Advent blog-a-long - Day 6 - Tuesday Treasures
Another Queensland summer favourite for my treasure today. I am lucky enough to have this lovely tree in my garden and look forward to the first blooms. They have the most wonderful fragrance and also remind me of my mother. These were one of her favourite flowers.
As we usually had a frangipani tree where we lived, or at least nearby, Mum always used the flowers for decoration, particularly at Christmas. I can remember threading them into garlands to put on the table for Christmas dinner.
Don't forget to visit Melody to see who else is sharing treasures today.

I agree with you Carolyn. The smell of Frangipanis is home to me. I am like your Mum. I had silk ones in my wedding bouquet and I had them on my wedding cake too. Mine is just getting flower bracts now. Wonderful Treasure!
ReplyDeleteThe frangipani is one of my very favourite flowers and fragrances. How delightful to have it growing in your garden.
ReplyDeleteI love the frangipani too.. and have a couple in the garden but they are still quite small... I love the native frangipani too and their flowers are beautifully scented...

Such pretty flowers and a lovely reminder of your Mom and days gone by , a treasure for sure .
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tree, it's so nice having scented flowers in the garden.
ReplyDeleteYou know it's strange, but all the white frangipanis aren't in flower at the moment. All the pink, red and orange ones are putting on the most amazing show though!
ReplyDeleteI love the frangipani tree, we have two small ones in our front garden and I would love to add more!
