Tuesday treasures

I'm a bit late joining in today as I have been having a lovely day out, which is also the subject for my treasure. I went on the train into Brisbane today for a National Trust day trip, cruising on the river from Southbank to Breakfast Creek, where we got off to visit Newstead House.

The front entrance to the house, originally the back.

This house is the oldest domestic dwelling still standing in Brisbane. The original house on the site was built in 1846 and was later extended to look like it does today.

The Sitting room

We had a yummy morning tea while cruising down the river, and a lovely lunch on the verandah of Newstead House, looking out over the river. Two treasures in one!

MV Neptune with her lovely crew

Don't forget to pop over and visit Melody to see who else is sharing today.

  1. I have lived in Brisbane for over 10 years and never visited Newstead House. SCANDALOUS!!! Hope you stayed out of the rain!
